Q:  How do I apply for a Lifeguard position?
A:All potential lifeguards must have current American Red Cross or equivalent certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED.  Those interested can submit an application or resume to ses0032@auburn.edu or drop it off in person at the Aquatics Center Office.


 Q: Are swim lessons offered by the James E. Martin Aquatics Center?
A: Yes. The swim lesson program, Tiger Swim Lessons holds lessons in the Instructional Pool of Martin Aquatics Center and is open to all ages.  The program is operated and run by Auburn Aquatics.

Session A: May 12-23, 2014; Classes 3:00pm-7:00pm

Session B:  May 26-June 6, 2014; Classes 9:00am-11:00am

Session C:  June 9-20, 2014; Classes 9:00am-11:00am

Registration for all sessions will be Saturday, April 26 from 8:00am - 11:00am in the upper lobby of Martin Aquatics Center.  All classes are filled on a first come first serve basis.

Q: Is there a youth swim team at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center?
A:
Auburn Aquatics is a local USA Swimming affiliated club that trains and hosts meets at Martin Aquatics Center.  They are open to children and adults of all ages and abilities.  More information can be found at www.auburnaquatics.com

The Aquatics Center also has a US Masters Swimming affiliated club, Auburn Masters Swimming, that trains and hosts meets at Martin Aquatics Center. They are open to anyone 18 years or older and of any ability.  More information can be found at www.auburnmasterswimmers.org


Q: Is there a certification program offered for lifeguarding?
A: The Department of Kineisiology is offering a Lifegaurd Training Course in the Spring of 2014.  The course is PHED 1740 and it is open to Auburn University students only.

Lifeguard Training classes are also held through the Office of Professional and Continuing Education and open to everyone. Classes are usually scheduled for March and April.  For more information and to register please visit the OPCE schedule website.  The American Red Cross of Lee County may know of other lifeguarding classes being held in the area.


Q: Do you offer any Water Aerobics Classes?
A: Water Aerobics courses are offered at this facility through the Office of Professional and Continuing Education.  Classes meet weekday mornings from 7:45am-8:45am. For more information or to sign up for a class please contact the Office of Professional and Continuing Education at (334)844-5100.
