The Aquatics Center will be closed Friday, May 18 after 1pm and all day Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20 for a swim meet.

Interested in a job as a Life Guard?
All potential lifeguards must have current American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.  Those interested can submit an application or resume to ses0032@auburn.edu or in person at the Aquatics Center Office.

Q: Are swim lessons offered by the James E. Martin Aquatics Center?
A: Yes.  They are sponsored by the Auburn University Athletics Swimming and Diving program.  John Asmuth directs the swim lesson program that is open to all ages. 

Session A: May 14-25, 2012; Classes 3:00pm-7:00pm (Adult class 7-7:45pm)

Session B:  May 28-June 8, 2012; Classes 9:00am-11:00am

Session C:  June 11-22, 2012; Classes 9:00am-11:00am

Registration for all sessions will be Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 8am-11am on the upper level of the Aquatics Center.  All classes are filled on a first come first serve basis.

Q: Is there a certification program offered for lifeguarding?
A: Auburn University will be conducting a lifeguard training class April 9-17, 2012 and a lifeguard recertification course March 31, 2012. Classes are held through the Office of Professional and Continuing Education.  For more information and to register please visit the OPCE schedule website.  The American Red Cross of Lee County may know of other lifeguarding classes being held in the area.


Q: Do you offer any Water Aerobics Classes?
A: Water Aerobics courses are offered at this facility through the Office of Professional and Continuing Education.  Classes meet weekday mornings from 8am-9am and Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm-8pm.  For more information or to sign up for a class please contact the Office of Professional and Continuing Education at 334-844-5100.
